February 22 – We are ALL IN!

Read Matthew 28:5-8

He is risen!

I know it’s not Easter today, however, the Easter message of Christ risen from the grave fuels Grace Church. I didn’t realize the power of this message until it transformed my heart and life when I was 16-years-old. Ever since that day, this message and the Holy Spirit have continued to transform me from the inside out. The transformative nature of the gospel is why I’m “all in” at Grace Church.

I told God that I was “all in” for a life of surrender to Him when I was in Philadelphia on the steps just outside the Urban Hope Training Center in 2003. I had never in my life experienced such life-change; I was made new and I was caught in the wonder of the Spirit at work in the world and in my life.

Just a few years later, I interned at Grace for the first time in our Middle School Ministry. After that summer, I told God again, “I’m all in, but I’m never doing full-time ministry.” Isn’t it interesting how we put conditions on our surrender? God had other plans, and humbled me several times before I said again, “Ok, God. I’m in, for real.”

It’s Matthew 28:5-8 (and later the Great Commission at the end of this chapter) that keep me moving forward in grace towards righteousness and loving working at Grace Church.

Matthew 28:5-8

“The angel said to the women, ‘Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay. Then go quickly and tell his disciples: ‘ He has risen from the dead and is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him.’ Now I have told you.’ So the women hurried away from the tomb, afraid yet filled with joy, and ran to tell the disciples.”

Just like the women in these verses… we are carriers of the best message ever. The angel didn’t just say to “go,” the angel said, “go quickly!” And the women, “hurried away from the tomb.” They realized the importance and the urgency that the gospel message requires.

As the Communications Director of Grace Church, I oversee a team of people that clears the way for this message to be proclaimed every week! We are constantly making sure that nothing gets in the way of the message. We care for anything that’s read, touched, experienced or clicked, except for the sermon that’s prepared by our teaching team of pastors. We work hard to make church clear and simple, so more people can hear and experience the hope of the resurrection of Jesus!

He is risen! That truth changes everything. How will it transform you today?
